As a Manager, you will be responsible for:Running the day-to-day financial operations of our clients including the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, collections, and financial reportingMonitoring our team's usage of our internal procedures, processes, and controlsManaging both onshore and offshore staff on an ongoing basis as they perform transactional activities, technical accounting activities, and synthesize data into reports or analysis for the clientsAssisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirementsManaging communications with vendors, customers, partners, shareholders, banks, and other interested parties for each clientManaging journal entries, reconciliations, and coordinating the overall effort for the monthly and annual closing processesAssisting in the preparation of budgets and forecastsReviewing the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalancesConverting customers to new accounting systems and performing cleanup activities on clients' books and recordsAdvising and assisting with technical accounting decisionsDeveloping models and analysis for client requestsEncouraging ongoing improvement of internal operations, taking input from key business stakeholders (or senior staff) and developing process, technology, or structural improvementsQualificationsOutstanding interpersonal communication skills and is highly effective in developing trusted relationships in person, over the phone, and through written communicationsProven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or other similar positionExperience in several different industries - professional services, manufacturing, construction, and healthcare are particularly valuedExcellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes and of the structure necessary to run them efficiently and effectively (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)Knowledge and experience of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)Understanding of data analysis and forecastingExperience with multiple accounting systems which could include Quickbooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, and other middle-market accounting and ERP packagesExpert in ExcelWell-organized with ability to prioritizeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilityBachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a relevant field is preferredExperience participating in an ERP implementation is a plusProfessional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
