Electrical Design Engineer – Functional ECUs & Smart Security *Location:* Saline, MI *Job Type:* Full-Time *Experience:* 2–5 years Position Overview eShocan is seeking an *Electrical Design Engineer – Functional ECUs & Smart Security* to support vehicle development for an automotive electronics team in Saline, MI. This role focuses on the *vehicle application, electrical design, packaging, and integration of Functional ECUs and Smart Security systems*. The position will work closely with suppliers and internal engineering teams to ensure components meet vehicle performance, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements. What You'll Do * Support vehicle application and development of Functional ECUs and Smart Security systems. * Work with systems including: * Power Slide Door ECU * Power Tailgate ECU * Seat ECU * Window ECU * Sunroof ECU * Smart ECU * Immobilizer systems * Antenna systems * Plan ECU structure, packaging, and vehicle integration while balancing performance, customer requirements, and cost. * Establish design targets and evaluate packaging and style feasibility. * Develop and issue electrical design specifications to suppliers. * Manage supplier schedules, performance, quality, and deliverables. * Maintain part lists and engineering documentation. * Prepare and manage engineering change instructions and wiring specifications. * Collaborate with internal engineering teams and suppliers throughout vehicle development. * Support problem solving and resolution of electrical/component design issues. What We're Looking For * Bachelor's degree in *Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering*, or a related field. * *2–5 years of electrical design engineering experience.* * Experience with automotive electrical/electronic systems is highly preferred. * Experience with vehicle electronics development is a plus. * Experience with *CATIA* is a plus. * Strong problem-solving and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers. What This Role Is This is primarily an *automotive electrical design and vehicle development role*, focused on ECU/component application, packaging, integration, specifications, wiring, and supplier coordination.
