Associate Buyer

The central operations for our stores, including the merchandising team, are located in our corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida. Due to the significant growth in our business, we are currently hiring Associate Buyers for Souvenirs & gifts team. Responsibilities of the Associate Merchant Reporting into the Senior Buyer or Director the Associate Merchant will: Have responsibility for the management of a specific category or product line by meeting financial targets, inventory levels, sales and markdown budgets, product turns, and overall company targets for assigned area of responsibility. Monitor industry trends, evaluate competition and current market performance and conduct market visits and attend industry shows as required. Establish and maintain reorderable assortments and plan-o-grams by market. Develop and execute new product/assortment and marketing promotional sales driving ideas by market. Develop positive professional relationships with vendors and field team. Other duties as assigned. Experience/qualifications for the Assistant Merchant or Associate Merchant: Associate Merchant - 2+ years of experiences as an Assistant or Associate Merchant Experience within purchasing, buying and marketing promotions of fashion accessories, souvenirs and gifts or grocery preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business or merchandising or equivalent work experience. Ability to travel to market and to stores up to 25% of the time. Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of merchandise negotiations. Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook - including pivot tables and VLookup Proficient in merchandise financial planning and purchasing systems. Strong understanding of trend forecasting, retail math, analysis and performance reporting. Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
