Business/Data Analyst

Job Title: Business/Data AnalystLocation: New York, NYDuration:6 MOnthsSelf-driven and proactive.Fungible across different tasks – functional data mapping, data analysis, data profiling, interfacing with the stakeholders and other technology teams.Strong communication, independent thinking.Understanding of Transaction/payment Data is a plus.MS ID readiness is a plus.Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed technical specificationsConduct analysis of business requirements and processes for data centric projectsResponsible for gathering and writing data requirements.Translate business requirements into data mapping specificationsDevelop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration used in the business domainTroubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolutionWork with Data Engineers who will implement technical solutions to meet business requirementsSupport developers with data subject expertiseSupport phases of project development, from analysis and design to testing and implementationEnsure that technology solutions meet the defined requirements.Understanding of data quality and data governanceProvide ongoing support and training to business users on the new or revised systems.Required Skills:Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modelingStrong SQL query skillsExperience with SDLCStrong analytical, profiling and troubleshooting skillsStrong knowledge with Big Data/Hadoop platformStrong business analysis and requirements definition skillsStrong stakeholder presentation skillsSolid organization and planning skillsAt least 7 years' financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services dataGood verbal and written communication skillsDesired Skills (Not required):Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Experience with Agile project deliveryExperience with programming languages (e.g., Python)Crypto background
