Barkai Yeshivah - Barkai YeshivahJob Title: Finance AssistantReports to: Finance ManagerPosition OverviewThe Finance Assistant is a versatile and team-oriented individual with abilities and experience in performing day to dayfinancial tasks. An essential function of the Finance Assistant is to help ensure the smooth financial functioning of theschool.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):1. Recording Financial Transactions: Keeping accurate records of all financial transactions, including sales,purchases, receipts, and payments. This involves using accounting software such as QuickBooks, spreadsheets,or ledger books.2. Maintaining General Ledgers: Updating and maintaining the general ledger, which is a comprehensive record ofall financial transactions.3. Reconciling Accounts: Ensuring that the records in the organization's accounts match the corresponding bankstatements and correcting any discrepancies. Prepare monthly reconciliations, data entries, and financialstatements.4. Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable: Tracking and managing money owed by the company and moneyowed to the company.5. Expense Tracking: Monitoring and recording expenses, ensuring they are correctly categorized and accountedfor.Periodic Financial Reporting: Create and distribute reports tracking financial performance.Budgeting and Forecasting: Helping in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.Assisting with Audits: Providing information and documentation required for internal and external audits.Human Resources: Helping with human resources policies and procedures, time and attendance and otherstaffing related tasks.10. Ensuring Compliance: Making sure that financial records comply with relevant laws and regulations.QUALIFICATIONS:Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a closely related discipline preferred.Two years of experience in bookkeeping and finance roles.Proficiency in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Knowledge of financial concepts, debits, credits, and budgeting.Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelAbility to perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliationStrong attention to detail and accuracy in data entryExcellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasksExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex financial information to nonfinance stakeholders.Traits & Qualities:Deep customer service ethic.Goal-driven, accountable, and reliableStrong attention to detail and follow through.Humility, self-awareness, integrity, enthusiasm, persistence, flexibility, entrepreneurial, constant learner.Proactive and creative problem-solver; ability to identify, analyze, and recommend solutions to problems.Strong interpersonal skills and track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders; capacity to work well withstaff, students, families, community members, and outside vendors.• Enthusiasm and sense of humor.To Apply: Email your resume to dchalom@barkaionline.org.Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
