Occupational Therapist (OT)

We are seeking a compassionate and resourceful Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The OT will conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify barriers to independence and implement personalized therapeutic interventions. The goal is to enhance the patient's ability to perform meaningful activities (occupations) and improve their overall quality of life.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct standardized assessments and clinical observations to evaluate a patient's physical, cognitive, and emotional status.Develop individualized treatment plans with specific, measurable goals based on patient needs and medical history.Facilitate therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, hand-eye coordination, and upper body strength.Provide training in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, bathing, and meal preparation.Recommend and provide training for adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs, splints, or eating aids.Assess home, school, or work environments and suggest modifications to improve accessibility and safety.Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.Educate family members and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home exercise programs.QualificationsMaster's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.Current state licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist.Initial certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to address complex patient needs.Excellent communication skills for collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.Work EnvironmentThis role may be based in a hospital, outpatient clinic, school system, or skilled nursing facility. The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift or assist patients and remain active throughout the workday.
