You'll have an opportunity to work beside a first-rate team of subject matter experts in the field of law, insurance, and business operations.Essential Job FunctionsWork as internal counsel in conjunction with claims to strategize, implement, and manage representation of CURE in PIP and Coverage litigation cases in both Forthright and the Superior Court, from inception to conclusion, by trial or dispositive hearingEvaluating and providing detailed analysis of assigned cases in accordance with CURE's staff counsel policies and procedures, including trial and expense controlCollaborate with CURE's Claims Department to establish, communicate, and implement team litigation objectives and obtain prompt resolution of claimsPreparing and responding to arbitration demands and/or pleadings and discoveryPreparing and handling arbitration submissions and Rule 35 applications for dismissal in Forthright mattersPlanning, taking, and defending Examinations Under Oath (EUO) and depositionsAttending Forthright arbitrations, motion hearings, arbitration hearings, and all other pre-trial mattersAbility to prepare for and try casesAbility to draft and argue post-arbitration/trial motions and appeals in both Forthright and the Superior CourtNegotiating high-level settlement agreementsExperience/QualificationsJD required from an ABA-accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice, and in good standing, with NJ State BarAt least 2 years insurance defense experience in both Forthright and the Superior CourtExperience independently managing a caseload of PIP and Coverage matters, working cases from beginning to end.Excellent research, writing, and presentation communication skillsAbility to think critically, analyze complex information, and problem solve with expedienceHighly collaborative working style with demonstrated commitments to meeting individual and team goalsMust be adaptable and computer savvy with an ability to navigate multiple systemBenefitsComprehensive health benefits including medical, dental and vision coverageGenerous paid time off (PTO days, sick days, and holidays)Flexible spending options with FSA & HSA plansLife and AD&D insurance401(k) with company matchVoluntary benefits such as legal services, pet insurance, and identity & fraud protection24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their familiesFun, engaging in-office events that support our culturePhysical Actions/Environment: Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently move about the office to coordinate work with others; standing, sitting and typing for extended periods; and lifting and/or carrying up to 5 lbs. Ability to read, understand, process and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.Starting Salary: $100,000 - $160,000Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5.
