Parsons' Indianapolis office is leading the way in delivering major transportation projects across the state and our full-service environmental group is integral to its success. This role requires:Why Join Parsons?Work on high-profile INDOT highway and bridge projectsLead a well-established, collaborative environmental teamEnjoy flexibility and strong support for career growthBe part of a global infrastructure leader with local impactKey ResponsibilitiesLead NEPA DeliveryManage and/or prepare NEPA documents for highway and bridge projects in IndianaLead higher-level Categorical Exclusions (CE-3/CE-4); experience with INDOT templates and processes strongly preferredServe as environmental lead on moderate-sized projects and task/discipline lead on more complex effortsTechnical & Team LeadershipProvide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality review for environmental staffCoordinate with internal disciplines (roadway, bridge, drainage, construction, public involvement) to integrate environmental requirements into project developmentImplement Parsons' QA/QC procedures and help drive continuous improvement in our environmental practiceClient Service & Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain strong working relationships with INDOT and other transportation clientsParticipate in and occasionally lead public involvement activities (public meetings, hearings, presentations)Support business development efforts, including strategy input, pursuits, and preparation of letters of interest (LOIs) and proposalsWhat We're Looking For:EducationBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, or a related fieldExperience10+ years of relevant environmental/NEPA experienceDemonstrated experience with transportation NEPA, ideally on INDOT projectsPrior consulting experience strongly preferredSkills & CredentialsStrong working knowledge of NEPA and related environmental regulations (Section 4(f), Section 106, Section 404/401, ESA, etc.)Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience preparing clear, defensible environmental documentsProven ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver multiple tasks/projects on scheduleRelevant professional certifications (e.g., AICP, PWS, CPESC) are a plus but not requiredCollaborative team leader who enjoys mentoring and developing staffRelationship-builder with a client-focused mindset and a partnership-oriented approachSelf-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of project deliverablesWhat's in It for You:Opportunity to lead and grow a NEPA practice within a major transportation programAccess to robust technical resources and a national network of environmental professionalsCompetitive compensation, benefits, and professional development supportSecurity Clearance Requirement:NoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
