Massage Therapy Instructor, Part-Time

Carteret Community College, Morehead City, NC is seeking a passionate and experienced part-time Massage Therapy Instructor to join our college community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in massage therapy, excellent communication skills, and a desire to inspire and educate future massage therapists. As a Massage Therapy Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging curriculum, providing hands-on instruction, and guiding students through their journey of learning and development. Hourly pay rate is commensurate with education and experience.Develop comprehensive lesson plans and course materials that align with curriculum objectives and industry standards.Deliver dynamic and interactive classroom instruction, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.Provide individualized feedback and support to students to facilitate their skill development and academic progress.Demonstrate proper massage techniques and protocols, ensuring students develop proficiency and confidence in their practice.Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, respect, and professionalism among students and faculty.Stay current with developments in the field of massage therapy and incorporate new research and techniques into the curriculum as appropriate.EDUCATION:* Must hold a valid massage therapy license issued by the NC Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy* At least two years of professional experience in the subject areaLICENSING REQUIREMENTS:North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy licenseMaintain CEU's as set forth by the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork TherapyReceived certification to teach a trademarked modality if such certification is available.KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:Previous experience teaching or training others in massage therapy or related fields preferred.Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology as they relate to massage therapy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.Patient, empathetic, and supportive attitude towards students from diverse backgrounds.Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting professional integrity in the practice of massage therapy.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:* Requires mobility, and the ability to stand for long periods of time, performing demonstrations of all basic massage therapy services.* Ability to lift/maneuver up to 50 lbs.Carteret Community College is an EOE/E-verify employer.
