A Day in the LifeThe Safety Coordinator for NRI Distribution will provide health and safety support to Operations and will ensure compliance with corporate, federal, state and local regulatory requirements. The position is to promote employee’s awareness for health and safety through providing support in training and companywide communication while bringing a marketing appeal. Maintain all safety compliance records to satisfy corporate, federal, and state or local legislation.The Safety Coordinator promotes a positive safety culture while complying with NRI Distribution safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes training and coaching Managers, Supervisors, Trainers, and associates on observed work habits.What does success look like in this role?The ideal individual must have the ability to manage, train and develop all NRI employees. They must be comfortable to work independently but also embrace collaboration and working within a dynamic, positive team while having a customer service outlook.Starting Wage$25.00/hour - $29.00/hourAll About YouWhat You’ll Bring to the Role:Ability to communicate health and safety needs to all levels of the organizationCalm demeanor in emergency situationsTakes initiative, works well independently and in groupsApproaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follow through on commitments.Experience using Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook in a professional capacityExperience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the workplaceThe Must HavesMust have 12+ months of direct safety experienceThe successful candidate will typically have a associates degree in environmental, health & safety related field or equivalent to 2 years of related experience.Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910OSHA 10/30 preferableOSHA 10/30 certification and knowledge of OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910 preferredFirst Aid and CPR certification preferredMust have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/stairs, ok with heights in elevated areas and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc.Trustworthy and moral character (we use pre-employment background & drug tests) Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights and/or weekendsThings You Will be DoingLead and Support Safety Ambassador Meetings, review incident/accident trends, and present safety opportunities.Maintain safety training schedule and create a culture of mindfulness of safety practices and incentive programs.Practice’s safe working techniques and re-enforcing the safety policies, guidelines, and as set in regulatory legislation.Provide subject matter expert (SME) guidance and leadership to assist company compliance with rules and regulationsTracks, maintains, and archives all safety training documentation and databases to keep a real time status.Conduct monthly building audits and communicate corrections to appropriate departments.Ensures completion of Safety Incident - Injury Investigation Reports (SIIIR) packing on all post-incident, accident at the facility with Operations Management team. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), incident investigations while working alongside Management team.Tracks and communicates processes on post-accident/incident investigations/ review corrective action measures.Assist with post-accident/reasonable suspension drug testing program.Ensure that contractors, personnel working on the property & visitors comply with NRI policies and safety requirements; maintain Contractors/Vendor Safety Program.Identifies safety policies as needed to ensure all safe practices and equipment are utilized in the day-to-day training.Host and facilitate equipment operator certification classes and In-House Training sessions to support operational and compliance requirements.Assist with maintaining the Site Emergency Response Plan and procedures.The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.PerksStaff purchase program – wear the brands you love!
