Role: CNC Programmer IV
Location: Houston, TX

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Developing and implementing CNC programs for diverse manufacturing jobs, fixtures, and repairs within the facility. Analyze customer-supplied prints and develop programs to maximize the utilization of existing equipment. Identify and offer guidance on areas where fixturing, work holding, tooling, and processes need to be improved.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Create advanced CNC programs for 5 axis machine shops, vertical mills with and without fourth axis rotaries, horizontal mills, and Fanuc lathes that have live tooling and Y axis.
Develop programs and tool path models by using computer-aided design/manufacturing (CAD/MASTERCAM) and associated computer technology.
Ensure that machine performance and areas for improvement in the machining process are evaluated, communicated, and reported in an effective manner
Continuously seek out advancements in tooling and technology to enhance existing processes.
Helps operators with the correction of CNC program problems on the floor through troubleshooting.
Examine routers for production purposes
Develop and design work holdings and select cutting tools. Produce and gather essential documents to aid in the set-up of machines
Organize and maintain the DNC system according to current processes, including setting up information to define tool selection in the tool room and decrease setup times on machines.
Evaluate new machine technologies to decrease part cycle time
Maintain the improvement of design and production efforts by collaborating closely with the engineering team
Support in generating models and blueprints for work holding and fixturing
Assist in training with other CNC programmers
Meet the requirements set forth in the QHSE Management System or direct supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of MASTERCAM
Expertise in advanced machining techniques using DMG (5 axis), Mazak Integrex (5 axis), Mazak (4 axis vertical), and Fanuc Lathe (Puma, Wia, Kia)
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 5 years of experience in a programming role.
A well-rounded understanding of CNC programs and DNC systems
Efficient communication at all levels within the manufacturing facility
The ability to comprehend work orders, blueprints, GD&T, CNC programs, and processes in a clear and concise manner.
The ability to direct teams in the development of new product processes
Demonstrate a willingness to alter priorities to meet changing demands.
Adapting to multitasking in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
Having the ability to solve practical problems and adapt to changing situations.
The ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.91 - $40.00 per hour
