Mendix Technical Lead

Title: Mendix Technical LeadPosition: Remote fulltime in AZ, CA, CO, DC, FL, IN, KY, NY, NC, OR, RI, SC, TX, UT, VT, WABase Salary: $125-$150K depending on experiencePurpose of this PositionThe Mendix Technical Lead is a seasoned low-code expert and trusted client consultant who leads engagements end to end. This role is consultant first. Before a single microflow is built, the Technical Lead has done the harder and more important work: building a genuine relationship with the client, listening deeply to understand their business, and achieving Radical Alignment — the practice of achieving genuine, documented agreement with the client on what is being built, why it is being built, and what success looks like before any development begins — on what needs to be built and why.This role combines deep Mendix development expertise with the consultative presence and project ownership skills to guide clients from discovery through delivery — at times in the absence of a dedicated project manager. They are the senior technical voice the client relies on, the developer who takes on the hardest builds, and the mentor who raises the capability of the Solution Consultants working alongside them. They translate complex business problems into scalable Mendix solutions and hold the line on scope, architecture, and quality throughout the engagement lifecycle.Preferred Capabilities● 5+ years of hands-on Mendix development experience, including solution architecture, complex application builds, and integrations● Mendix Advanced Developer certification required; commitment to maintaining current certification status● Demonstrated experience leading client engagements end to end — from discovery through delivery — in a consulting environment● Strong consultative skills: experienced advising clients, managing expectations, and redirecting poor decisions with professionalism● Familiarity with AI tools and their application to development workflows, client communication, and solution design; experience delivering AI-integrated Mendix solutions is a strong plus● Experience mentoring less experienced developers through pairing, code review, and structured feedback● Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies● Experience with scope management, estimates, and holding scope boundaries under client pressure● Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences● Experience identifying account expansion
