Production Engineering Supervisor
Summary of Functions
the Production Engineering Supervisor manages and ensures the performance of facility equipment and processes including management of maintenance staff. These duties include preventative maintenance and repair in a wide array of electro-mechanical, robotic equipment. This role is also responsible for conferring with department management to determine the progress of work and completion dates and compiling reports on the progress of work, labor hours, costs, and production problems. This position requires maintaining, troubleshooting, and/or testing robotic equipment or related automated production systems as well. Most tasks involve preventative, corrective maintenance work, as well as managing the operation of all equipment and robotic processes for the facility.
Principle Responsibilities
Distributes production schedules and work orders to maintenance staff.
Troubleshoots systems, using programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensors, etc.
Designs, configures, and works on the application of robotic systems and modifies computer-controlled robot movements.
Disassembles and reassembles robots or peripheral equipment to make repairs.
Performs preventative or corrective maintenance on electromechanical equipment and robotic systems.
Maintains service records of robotic equipment or automated production systems.
Reviews documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing spreadsheets to determine personnel or materials requirements and priorities.
Manages department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
Examines documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
Monitors inventories of production supplies such as sensors and cables.
Fabricates housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures, using metalworking machines, testing performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
Coordinates operational activities by planning production commitments or timetables.
Compiles and prepares documentation related to production sequences, personnel schedules, and maintenance, or repair orders.
Performs all work safely in a fast-paced work environment.
Qualifications
10+ years of supervising experience preferred.
Associate degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, specialized in auto body parts, preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot robotics using Yaskawa and Kuka.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, and value engineering preferred.
Experience in PLC platforms such as Melsec, Mitsubishi.
Ability to program PLC robotics.
Ability to train maintenance personnel.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks in the fast-paced environment and prioritize workload.
Team player with high energy and a can-do attitude.
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Strong math skills, with the capability of understanding and conducting basic arithmetic and statistical operations.
Ability to quickly recognize errors and inconsistencies in numerical data (good analysis skills).
Familiar with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Excellent supervisory and communication skills.
Must be flexible to working overtime, weekends, and occasionally holidays.
Physical Requirements
Work is considered low physical work in an office and production setting, requiring lifting up to 25 pounds of force. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust.
Must be able to:
Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time.
Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc.
The office area is adjunct to the facility facing noises, constant phone interactions, and will be in contact with other staff.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year
