They complete reports and have meetings that demonstrate the work status and issues that have come up on the Production floor. They make sure that each department has checked that the merchandise is without blemish before moving to the next stage of Production. They coordinate the scheduling of the Work Orders with the department leads at the Production meeting.Job DutiesCoordinate the purchase of necessary materials for the Production staff with the Stock Room and Purchasing DepartmentManage the operation of the entire Production floorMaintain Production qualityDaily checkups of every department looking for safety, effectiveness and any other problems department leads may haveSign off on job approval of rejected merchandise, when applicableMake sure that each department is ensuring the standards and quality that are expected at Super Color DigitalStage jobs, beginning in Preflight, in Production using the computer systemAttend Production meeting, be ready to contribute advice and status of current Work Orders as well as open Work OrdersCreate spreadsheets and documents that describe status of Work Orders and procedures used on the machinesOversee and facilitate all production departments including purchasing, stockroom, shipping, receiving and driversAdhere to scheduled timelines for all scheduled shipmentsCreate Daily Production Reports which are given to VP of Operations Maintain lockdown protocols for secured graphic projects Manage unacceptable employee performance through the use of Disciplinary Action Notices, counseling and regular performance evaluationsHost daily operation and status meetings with multiple departmentsOversee all daily requirements and scheduling for next shiftTrain personnel on work flow with the ability to lead, coach and inspire a teams to excel and meet deadlinesCommunicate frequently with VP of Operations and implement decisions through department leads Check that all information regarding Work Order is correct before accepting job, make sure that employees perform duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding Work Order/merchandise before allowing a job to be shipped out from Super Color DigitalJob CompetenciesKeen sense of urgencyCommon SenseAbility to manage failures and crises calmlyAbility to recommend and implement solutions to Production problemsEnergized and ready to grow with an outstanding organizationMeticulous attention to detail, effective planning and organizational skillsHighly time conscientiousMust lead by exampleUnderstand Cal OSHA compliance, industrial Safety, and MSDS Understand the basics of industrial Safety, health and environmental impacts and proactively affect the Production staffMust have strong people skills, and the ability to motivate and promote teamworkAbility to plan and implement improvementsAbility to identify and anticipate production and operation needsWillingness to learn new and emerging technologiesAbility to resolve problems, document all issues and put best practices in place to prevent future problemsFirm grasp of computer/printing terminologyQualificationsBachelor of Arts in Business/Production Management/Print Management preferred5+ years in the graphics industry Minimum 5 years experience in production management T.Q.M or Six Sigma Training Technical degree or equivalent experience requiredMust be a visionary who is always looking for new and innovative processesMust be available by company cellphone during off hoursSafety RequirementsAbility to stand throughout shift and lift 50 pounds, without strainingOSHA forklift certified
