We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and Synapse Analytics to join our consulting team. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and development of highly scalable data integration and data engineering solutions for our clients. You will serve as a technical lead, guiding both the client and internal team members through complex data challenges while delivering high-quality, on-time results. This is a hands-on leadership role you will be expected to design and build alongside your team, not just direct from the sidelines. ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale data pipelines and warehousing solutions on Microsoft Azure Architect end-to-end data solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and related cloud technologies Drive data engineering best practices across ingestion, transformation, data quality, and pipeline orchestration Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and code reviews Collaborate directly with clients to understand business requirements, assess current data environments, and propose scalable solutions Design and develop ETL/ELT processes, star schemas, data marts, and source-to-target mappings Manage migration of on-premises data warehouse solutions to Azure cloud environments Identify and resolve data quality issues, transformation logic gaps, and pipeline bottlenecks Produce and maintain technical documentation for all data solutions and pipelines Deliver projects on time, on budget, and in alignment with client goals Requirements7+ years of hands-on data engineering experience 2+ years in a technical lead or team leadership role, including mentoring engineers and owning project delivery Expert-level experience with Microsoft Azure, including: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Databricks / Apache Spark Strong experience designing and building enterprise data warehouses (on-prem and cloud) Advanced SQL skills including complex query writing, stored procedures, and performance tuning Experience migrating on-premises data solutions to Azure cloud environments Proficiency in Python and/or Scala for data pipeline development Experience with star schema design, data marts, and ETL/ELT best practices Strong communication skills ability to lead client meetings and translate business needs into technical solutions Ability to travel to client locations based on project needs Nice To HaveMicrosoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Data Engineer Associate DP-203) Consulting background Benefits100% Paid Healthcare Insurance Paid Days Off accruing from Day One Matching 401K Retirement Plan Career Development Fitness Reimbursement Team Events and more
