We strive understand our customers, market and product to maximize our results.Position SummaryThe Bench Mechanic I is a key member of the manufacturing team in a high mix, lower volume environment, reporting to the Operations manager. Airtomic is an FAA Repair Station, this position performs all required pressure testing and cleaning of all aircraft engine components as defined in the engineering process routing. Read and understand routing instructions are critical to ensure product safety. The position is entry level in the production process, leading to training in duct and metal fabrication and repair. The ideal candidate enjoys problem solving, working in a fast-paced environment and self-directed.Key Position ResponsibilitiesActs proactively supporting safety at all times. Safety is ALWAYS firstPosition is up tempo and very detail orientedOperate a product clean lineAir and water pressure test integrity for all required tubes, ducts & manifoldsBead blast product as requiredIn process visual inspection to a check fixtureEnsures products adhere to quality standardsAbility to recognize and solve practical problems or issuesAbility to adapt, communicate, be decisive, be dependable, and take initiative.Ability to communicate and interact with coworkersEnsure hazardous materials are properly labeled, stored, handled for proper disposal.Polishing and basic blending of productAssist packaging & shipping when production peaksServe as a backup to deliver parts locally via the company vanRetrieve fixturesEnsures products adhere to quality standardsAs required, performs work assignments as directedRequired Qualification / Education / And/or ExperienceHigh school diploma, GED or equivalentValid driver's licenseAttendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this positionAbility to organize priorities, daily tasks and complete actions on time, in a fast-paced environment.Strong work ethic and leadership abilityMust be able to show proof of legally ability to work in United StatesMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust be able to pass FAA drug screen and background checkPhysical DemandsLight to moderate physical effort required.Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facilityPreferred QualificationsAerospace / Defense industry experience a plusFAA A&P certificate is a strong plusRead and interpret blueprints and approved technical dataExperience working in a manufacturing facilityExperience working with hand toolsTravel – 0%No direct reports RelationshipsReports to Operation ManagerDaily interaction with all levels within RBC Bearings and customersWe offer competitive compensation and excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, and company matched 401k plan.RBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/H
