CMM Programmer (Coordinate Measuring Machine)

Overview As a CMM Programmer, you develop reusable software inspection programs for CMM/CAI systems, supporting precision geometry verification in aerospace-focused manufacturing. You collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to define inspection criteria and best practices, validate programs, and prepare parts for production. You also train inspectors, interpret measurement data for manufacturing teams, and ensure change-management and validation processes are followed. ResponsibilitiesDevelop reusable software inspection programs for CMM/CAI systemsValidate and maintain inspection programsAssist with part programming projects remotely or on-siteCollaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Engineers to set inspection criteriaOperate measurement equipment to run machine trials and ensure readinessCreate custom inspection data reports for customers/engineeringExplain measurement data to production teams and provide clear assessmentsTrain personnel on CAI equipment, programs, and maintenanceMaintain compliance with program development, change management, and validation proceduresAdapt to varied schedules, including evenings/weekends and travel as needed Key requirementsExperience programming CMMs in offline/engineering environmentsStrong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5:2009 and ISO 1101:2012)Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical docsProficient with Windows and general computing conceptsProficient in CMM techniques and applicationsExperience with LK-Cameo and PC-DMISStrong mathematical skills including basic trigonometryKnowledge of manufacturing processes, CNC equipment, and quality systemsProblem solving under tight production timelinesCommunicationTeamworkAchieving resultsCMM programming (LK-Cameo, PC-DMIS)CAI software and measurement programmingGD&T (ASME Y14.5, ISO 1101)
