IT Programmatic Support Specialist

DNI/Emerging Technologies is seeking to hire an IT Programmatic Support Specialist. This candidate will be responsible for securing and monitoring data accessed, transmitted, and stored. They will be accountable for advising and validating controls to ensure that the protection is aligned with policies, procedures, and risk management. In the event of any incidents or suspected events, the specialist will collaborate closely with the information security and incident response teams. They will assist in data calls coordination and may assist with help desk duties.Support the email data loss prevention (DLP) program by monitoring the DLP service to review quarantined messages for release or blockingAssist SRS employees when emails are blocked from leaving SRS due to the email filter rules. This may include educating personnel on encryption requirements and capabilities, educating personnel on how the filter works, and reviewing and releasing emails.Routinely review the filter for emails with government information being sent to personal/non-government accounts. Notify individuals of the Cyber Code of Conduct and Information Security requirements.Support the release of information (ROI) process by conducting as needed reviews and cleansing of documents prior to release to external organizationsRespond to all DOE-SR public release requests within specified request timeframe (usually 1-5 business days).Add a red stamp that states “Approved for Public Release. ROI Request # ***” to DOE-SR documents that are submitted into the Request for Information Review Release application. Sanitize the above DOE-SR documents and replace original document with sanitized version (.pdf,.doc, .ppt, .xls, .jpg, .txt, videos, etc.).Approve requests on behalf of DOE-SR Cyber.Perform data collection, review, and entry of various IT and cybersecurity data calls for reporting purposes and support federal oversight by identifying inaccuracies and errors in reported dataProvide backup support to the IT Help DeskAssist DOE with the development of policies and procedures to ensure effective operations of our information security programs.Performs daily user support for hardware and software issues over the telephone and in person.Responds to user trouble tickets based on established service level agreements.Assists users with installation and configuration issues relating to supported software applications and standard hardware configurations as well as general network access.Build and deploy computer systems including image management.Perform sanitization of IT equipmentLunch and learns, webinars, training for current and new applications.Perform other duties assignedMust possess an excellent command of the English language and good communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data. Ability to accurately prepare written reports and correspondence that are coherent, grammatically correct, effective, and professional. Ability to demonstrate ethics, responsibility, confidentiality, professionalism, punctuality, consistent dependability, and organizational skillsMust be able to successfully perform advanced mathematical functions as required.Must have knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Must be able to observe operations or review technical data and ascertain compliance with procedures and technical specifications.Must possess problem solving skills and the capability to prioritize daily work schedule in keeping with productivity standards.Possess strong collaboration skills and be able to meet deadlines.
