We make the world safer – and you can, too.Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities IncludePurpose of PositionParticipants will be enrolled in a registered Youth Apprenticeship Program for 1 to 2 years to foster skill attainment and earn a nationally recognized and portable credential through the US Department of Labor. Youth Apprentices will observe IT professionals perform routine computer support and customer service functions. The Youth Apprentice will work toward being able to perform these functions without supervision.Major ResponsibilitiesThe Youth Apprentice will be mentored on an approved list of IT tasks with the goal to become proficient in each of the documented tasks. These tasks focus on Computing device support Basic networking technology Computer hardware configuration Computer virtualization technologies Hardware, software, and network troubleshooting Windows operating system Computer security practices Safety, communications, and procedure complianceAdditional work will be assigned as the Youth Apprentice demonstrates the ability to handle more complex tasks.The work schedule will be flexible and based around the Youth Apprentice’s academic schedule. The Youth Apprentice may work up to 40 hours per week during school breaks. The Youth Apprentice may only work when adult supervision is available. This position is not eligible for telework.Required QualificationsHigh school junior or senior enrolled in the Cyber Security and Computer Networking track at a Career Center.We'd Also Like to SeeDemonstrated desire to pursue a career in Information Technology.
