Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Dialysis Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Dialysis License: Valid Nursing License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments. - Ability to manage and monitor patients with acute and chronic kidney issues. - Proficiency in EKG interpretation and related skills. Description: The Registered Nurse in this specialty will provide care for patients with end-stage renal disease, acute kidney injury, and metabolic imbalances. They will be responsible for administering hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments. Patient monitoring will include telemetry and cardiac assessments. Nurses will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population requiring critical care interventions. The average patient length of stay is 4-5 hours, during which the nurse will be engaged in direct patient care and monitoring. Care is delivered consistently, with teamwork among ancillary staff including technicians and secretarial support. Nurses will also perform patient education related to dialysis treatments and overall health maintenance. Emergency management skills will be necessary for potential complications associated with dialysis procedures. Continuous professional development is expected, including compliance with all required certifications and competencies. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as this role may include rotating weekends and floating to various locations when necessary.
