Shooster Arts & Literature, Intern (Full Time/Hybrid)Sag Harbor, NYOverviewSAAL seeks a thorough, meticulously organized and detail-oriented intern to support the Director in collection management, scheduling, daily operations, maintenance, and administrative tasks Memorial-Labor Day in Sag Harbor, NY. Candidates will be self-motivated and eager to gain broad experience in a non-programmatic setting. Position requires discretion and reliability, as well as sound judgment to make decisions independently when necessary, while also possessing the skills and demeanor to work with vendors, clients, artists, and collaborators.ResponsibilitiesOrganize and manage the founder & sales directors’ calendar; scheduling meetings and appointmentsTake dictation and minutes during meetings; subsequently distributing to all participantsMaintain daily to-do list including list of contacts for follow-upHandle sensitive requests, repairs, and inquiries in a timely mannerUpdate exhibition and collection databases (ArtNet, Shopify, Google Sheets)Standard attribution copywriting & photo asset managementDevelop and maintain an efficient filing system for studio documentsProcure & replenish studio, packing, & cleaning supplies on a regular basisOversee setup and maintenance of employee workstations, including technology installations (computers, email, printers)SkillsInterest in furniture, design, art and literaturePrevious experience in a gallery or studio setting preferredProficiency in Google Docs/Spreadsheet/Drive, Shopify, ArtNet requiredProficiency in Adobe Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop preferredExceptional organizational and time management abilitiesCapable of multitasking and effectively prioritizing daily tasksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDiscretion and the ability to maintain confidentialityThe position reports to the Director but works in conjunction with internal & external partners including the company Founder. Qualifications2+ years previous experience preferredSolutions and deadline driven with excellent organizational skillsExceptional verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work discreetly, independently and on several projects at onceAbility to drive a vehicle (license required) for collection pick-ups & drop-offsExceptional interest and knowledge of furniture, design, and art terms or willingness to learnExperience with high profile clientele is a plusNo minimum educational qualification; self-directed learning impetus & implicit demonstrable interest in the arts & literature paramount to institutional qualificationsCompensation$20/hour.
