Job Details Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - LTAC / Long-Term Acute Care (Travel RN) Location: Tucson, AZ 85712 (Tucson healthcare jobs, Arizona travel nursing) Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) - high-acuity, ventilator-dependent patients Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nursing Job) Start Date: March 30, 2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Night Shift - 3 x 12-hour shifts per week Shift Duration: 12 Hour Nights Shifts per Week: 3 Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,020 - $2,130 (competitive pay for travel RNs) Openings: 3 positions available Qualifications / Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or a valid Compact RN license (Arizona RN required before first shift) BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to first shift Minimum 2 years recent bedside clinical experience with ICU or critical care background Proven ICU experience and comfort managing ventilators and high-risk airways, including ET tubes Proficiency titrating critical drips (e.g., Propofol, Fentanyl, Levophed [norepinephrine], Precedex, Versed, Vasopressin) Experience with complex wound care and wound vac management Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and EMR documentation skills Weekend availability required Ability to work autonomously on night shift and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Primary Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized LTAC care plans Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate for high-acuity patients Manage ventilators, titrate drips per protocol, and monitor hemodynamic status for critical care patients Provide complex wound care, including wound vac application and maintenance Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the EMR Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity and safety Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, weekly team conferences, and discharge planning from admission Supervise and support LPNs, CNAs, and orientees; delegate tasks and provide mentorship Promote a culture of safety, including safe patient handling, infection prevention, and hazard reporting Assume charge responsibilities after orientation as needed and engage in professional development Why Tucson, AZ?
