a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Position OverviewThe Senior Controls Engineer leads the design, development, and execution of control systems for complex automation projects from concept through commissioning and support. This role is responsible for PLC and HMI programming, electrical design, system testing, field installation, and troubleshooting, while serving as a technical lead and subject matter expert for control system standards and best practices. The position works independently while also supporting and guiding less experienced engineers throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesLeads controls projects from concept, design, estimating support, and component selection through installation, commissioning, and after-sales support.Designs electrical control systems including power and control layouts, panel designs, network architecture, and electrical schematics.Develops, programs, and debugs PLC and HMI applications for automated systems.Conducts on-site installation support, system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting at customer facilities.Creates functional system test plans and technical documentation describing system operation.Reviews and corrects electrical drawings and control programs created by other engineers and provides mentoring and knowledge transfer.Serves as the controls lead on project teams and coordinates work activities with other engineers and support staff.Communicates project status, technical issues, and schedules clearly with internal teams and project stakeholders.QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.6+ years of experience in controls engineering or a related automation role.Advanced experience with PLC programming, debugging, and commissioning.Experience with electrical and hardware design, including panel layouts and wiring diagrams.Proficiency with AutoCAD; AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred.Strong understanding of AC and DC control systems.Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as UL508A, NEC, and NFPA.Experience creating and reviewing control documentation, test plans, and technical reports.Understanding of material handling systems, manufacturing processes, or industrial automation systems is preferred.Knowledge of VFDs, servos, sensors, and vision systems is a plus.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and able to obtain airport security clearance as required.BenefitsExcellent Compensation (Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000)Medical, Dental, and Vision insuranceLife and Disability coverage401(k) planPaid Time Off and paid holidaysFlexible work scheduleTraining and professional development opportunities
