Location: Henrico, VAJob Type: Direct HireSalary: Starting at $60,000 (higher based on experience)A growing manufacturing and engineering company in the Richmond area is seeking an experienced Electrical Test & Systems Technician for a long-term opportunity. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in electrical systems, controls, and product testing who enjoys troubleshooting and working in a fast-paced technical environment.We are looking for a motivated professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support testing operations across a variety of electromechanical systems and products.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and support electrical and functional testing procedures for production systems and componentsSet up and connect power, communication, and control wiring for testing activitiesOperate diagnostic and measurement equipment to capture and analyze test dataTroubleshoot electrical systems, control circuits, and electronic assembliesInterpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentationMaintain testing equipment and ensure all tools remain fully operationalSupport production timelines and adjust work priorities as needed to meet delivery goalsAssist with RF shielding inspections, testing, and repair activitiesWork with three-phase power systems, motors, generators, relays, and control systemsSupport PLC-related troubleshooting and programming tasksDiagnose issues involving Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and automation systemsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical, electronic, or industrial control systemsAbility to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagramsExperience using electrical testing and monitoring equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, and multimetersStrong communication and documentation skillsMust be detail-oriented and self-motivatedMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearanceU.S. citizenship requiredPreferred ExperienceExperience with PLC systems and relay logicKnowledge of motor controls and generator systemsRF testing or shielding repair experienceFamiliarity with AutoCAD is a plusMechatronics degree or technical certification preferredLicensed electrician experience is highly valuedWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate is dependable, technically capable, and comfortable working independently while supporting a collaborative engineering and production environment.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
