We take organic waste that can pollute our environment above ground and safely inject it ultra deep underground—permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere while protecting local land, air, and water. Vaulted is based in Houston, San Francisco, and Kansas.With a growing team of 70+ people across the country, Vaulted signed the second largest carbon removal offtake ever with Microsoft in July 2025 and is rapidly expanding to new sites.Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions now, at scale.About the RoleThe Location Manager is responsible for leading all operational activities at the Hutchinson facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role oversees daily facility performance, manages on-site staff and contractors, and coordinates operations, maintenance, logistics, and corporate teams to support reliable emplacement and waste processing operations.The Location Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a strong safety culture, optimizing operational performance, and ensuring the facility operates in compliance with all regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety, Compliance, and QualityMaintain a strong safety-first culture and ensure strict compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standardsLead safety training, inspections, and incident prevention initiativesEnsure all facility operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, KDHE, DOT and related agencies)Lead internal audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews to maintain operational and environmental standardsFacility OperationsPlan & oversee all day-to-day facility operations including emplacement, logistics coordination, maintenance activities, and operational planningEnsure reliable and efficient facility performance through effective management of staff, equipment, and processesMonitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivityDevelop contingency and risk management plans to maintain operational resilienceTeam Leadership and Workforce ManagementRecruit, train, and manage facility personnel across operations and maintenance teamsDevelop staffing plans and shift schedules to support multi-shift or continuous operationsConduct performance evaluations and support employee development and trainingFoster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and safetyMaintenance and Asset ReliabilityOversee preventative maintenance programs and ensure equipment and facility infrastructure are properly maintainedCoordinate maintenance planning to minimize operational disruptions and downtimeManage maintenance contractors and service providers as neededSupply Chain and Procurement CoordinationMaintain adequate inventory of critical parts, tools, and equipment required to sustain reliable facility operationsCoordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to forecast equipment and material needsReview and approve local purchasing requests to ensure timely acquisition of operational materials while maintaining cost controlCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with engineering, HSE, logistics, finance, and leadership teams to align site operations with company objectivesServe as the primary operational contact for corporate teams, vendors, and local authoritiesCommunicate operational performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior leadershipLocationHutchinson, Kansas (onsite-based position)Occasional travel (up to 15%) to partner sites or regional meetings may be requiredWork EnvironmentBased at the Hutchinson, Kansas facilityWork involves outdoor activities around heavy equipment, pipelines, and emplacement systemsDaily coordination with operations, maintenance, logistics, supply chain, and HSE teamsStrict adherence to all PPE and site safety standards is requiredSchedule and ReportingFull-time, Monday–Friday, with occasional off-hours support during maintenance windows or operational eventsReports to the Operations Director and collaborates closely with the Engineering Team and Office ManagerWhat You Will BringTo succeed in this role, and to help Vaulted succeed in our mission, the Location Manager must bring strong operational leadership, technical awareness, and a deep commitment to safety and operational excellence.Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, environmental, industrial or related discipline) or equivalent technical operations experience15+ years of experience in industrial operations, energy, environmental services, manufacturing, or similar operational environmentsDemonstrated experience managing facility operations and leading multidisciplinary teamsStrong commitment to health, safety, and environmental complianceExperience managing equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and operational uptimeExperience implementing operational KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiativesExperience coordinating with regulatory agencies and maintaining operational complianceStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-growing company environment where systems and processes are evolvingPreferred QualificationsExperience in oil and gas, injection wells, subsurface operations, waste management, or fluid handling systemsExperience launching or scaling new facilities or operational sitesFamiliarity with Class I injection wells or regulated environmental operationsOpportunityThis is a unique opportunity to lead operations at a facility that is central to Vaulted Deep's mission of delivering durable, scalable carbon removal.
