Pharmacist – Long Term Care Pharmacy (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84119 Job Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $63/hour Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours per week Work Type: 100% Onsite Position Summary We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join a Long Term Care Pharmacy team in Salt Lake City, UT . This position offers a fast-paced and collaborative environment supporting medication services for long-term care facilities. The pharmacist will play a critical role in ensuring accurate medication dispensing, regulatory compliance, and efficient pharmacy operations . Candidates should have strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage workflow in a high-volume pharmacy environment. This position begins as a 3-month contract with the potential to convert to a full-time permanent role . Schedule Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Rotating weekends required 40 hours per week Pharmacy operates 365 days per year , including holidays, so occasional holiday coverage may be required based on rotation . Key Responsibilities Ensure accurate entry and verification of prescription orders Verify orders entered by pharmacy technicians Review new and refill prescriptions for completeness and accuracy Check drug packaging and labeling for accuracy Maintain security and regulatory compliance within the pharmacy Adhere to medication delivery schedules Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications Prepare or supervise preparation of sterile IV drug products , if required Ensure compliance with DEA regulations and state pharmacy laws Follow all state and federal regulations including HIPAA Provide weekend and holiday coverage when scheduled Support pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Active Pharmacist license in good standing Knowledge of DEA regulations and controlled substance dispensing Experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment Compensation & Benefits $63/hour pay rate 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity Full-time hours with potential overtime If you're a pharmacist looking for a contract-to-hire opportunity in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy setting, we encourage you to apply.
