Volunteer: Photographers Needed for AFSP Community Walks

The work we do focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide by delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public, raising funds for suicide research and programs, and reaching out to those who have lost someone to suicide.,The NYC Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is seeking 1-2 photographers for each of our four upcoming Community Walks throughout the boroughs. The Community Walks held in hundreds of communities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connection to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.Photographers, ideally with live event experience, are needed for the following for walk events Brooklyn/Queens Walk | Sunday, September 15 | Cadman Plaza ParkBronx Walk | Sunday, September 22 | Lehman CollegeStaten Island Walk | Sunday, September 29 | Clove Lakes ParkNYC Walk | Sunday, October 6 | Pier 16 & 17 - Seaport DistrictPhoto rights will be given to AFSP and photographer credit will be given if photos are publicized.
