This role involves providing consultative care to veterans in the field of Gastroenterology. The physician will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders using standard and accepted methods. Responsibilities include:Offering inpatient and outpatient consultation services related to GI and liver diseases.Overseeing the administration of conscious sedation.Performing GI procedures such as EGD (gastroscopy), complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo study, and advanced imaging techniques like NBI and chromoendoscopy.Additionally, the physician is expected to actively engage in research and educational activities. Meeting the academic requirements for a faculty appointment with the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program is essential. The incumbent will also contribute to the training of residents, fellows, medical students, and non-physician clinical trainees, participating in rounds and lectures.
