Senior Accountant – ContractLocation: Waterloo, IA (On-site)Duration: Contract Schedule: Full-time preferredOverview:A growing organization in the Waterloo area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a contract engagement to support core accounting functions, reporting, and month-end close. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financials and supporting ongoing accounting initiatives.Responsibilities:Manage and support month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activityAssist with financial statements and internal reportingEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesSupport audit requests and provide documentation as neededAnalyze variances and investigate discrepanciesCollaborate with AP/AR and other finance team members as neededQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years of general ledger or senior-level accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, etc.)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract environmentWhy This Role:Immediate impact opportunity with a reputable local organizationHands-on senior-level accounting workCompetitive contract pay and valuable resume-building experienceRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
