This position allows you to apply software development and cybersecurity knowledge to real-world situations while learning the technical skills needed for a successful career. The internship is 20-40 hours/week for approximately 13 to 15 weeks. Preferred candidates would have the opportunity to return for up to two additional semesters during their studies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design, development, and implementation of secure software solutions.Write clean, efficient, and scalable code with a focus on security.Collaborate with security engineers and software developers to integrate cybersecurity measures into software products.Conduct code reviews with a focus on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.Debug and troubleshoot software issues related to security.Develop and implement security protocols, encryption algorithms, and access controls.Conduct research on the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to inform development strategies.Attend virtual meetings and networking events to represent ZapIntern.Education and SkillsCurrently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.Experience with programming languages (such as Python, Java, or C++) and cybersecurity frameworks (such as OWASP, NIST, or ISO 27001) (preferred).Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Outstanding academic credentials and a passion for cybersecurity.To Learn More Visit: ZapIntern.
