Job Summary
Provide highly-skilled field representation, acting on behalf of PSEG Long Island, ensuring that all work performed on or near existing electric facilities is done in a manner that best provides for the safety of the workers and general public, while ensuring the integrity of PSEG Long Island facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Leads project team in the coordination of all phases of construction to ensure most efficient and cost effective use of PSEG Long Island resources
Attends all "Project Status" meetings held by the municipality and/or contractor, during the construction phase of the project
Responsible for coordinating and monitoring progress of internal/subcontractor field forces in relation to the overall municipal project construction schedule in respective division
Interact with OH/UG Lines to schedule the PSEGLI-related work to coincide with the Municipal contractors’ schedule
Interact with municipal contractor to ensure proposed electric facility relocations (and schedules) will allow for the construction of the municipal project without delay
Monitor work being performed by municipal contractor to ensure they maintain proper clearances around our facilities for the safety of the workers and the general public and the integrity of PSEG Long Island facilities
Notify PSEGLI Project Engineer when all PSEGLI-related work has been field completed to start the process of project close-out
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Competencies, Education and Skills:
Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of construction management, civil, municipal or utility infrastructure experience;
In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of construction management, civil, municipal or utility infrastructure experience
Demonstrated knowledge of electric construction techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel and Word
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence contractors and/or customers, as needed, to achieve the desired results
Demonstrated knowledge of Municipal construction activities
Must have and maintain a valid US driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driver record
Preferred Competencies, Education and Skills:
Knowledge of PSEG Long Island’s business operations, Company policies and practices
Proficiency in Adobe Pro
