LINUX System Administrator

Overview In this role you will support the deployment and sustainment of critical Linux-based systems within a defense environment. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to keep IT infrastructure healthy, handle day-to-day operations, and respond to customer requests. The position involves a mix of Linux administration, hardware/software configuration, and troubleshooting in a heterogeneous environment with Windows, VMware, and networking considerations. Your work will contribute to secure, reliable operations for mission-critical systems. ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day IT operations (Tier 1/2) and incident handlingInstall and maintain operating systems and hardware/software configurationsTroubleshoot and sustain infrastructure healthRespond to customer calls and requests; assist with infrastructure changesDeployment/reimaging via DHCP and Kickstart; Spacewalk and Yum usageIAVA resolution within the environmentSecurity-related responsibilities per DoD requirementsWork in a heterogeneous environment including Windows, VMware, and networking Key requirementsLinux system administration experienceCentOS/RedHat 7 and/or 8Active DoD 8570 category/level certifications (Security+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP, CASP, GSIH, GCED)Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph desiredRed Hat Certified System Administrator or equivalent a plusExperience with deployment tools like DHCP and KickstartSpacewalk and Yum familiarityIAT-2 or equivalent requirement for DoD rolesteam collaborationproblem-solvingcustomer-facing communicationLinux system administrationCentOS/RedHat 7/8DHCP, Kickstart
