Sr. Associate, Regulatory Affairs

Location: Remote with requirement to travel for business needsRole Purpose:The Senior Associate, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for ensuring that all products, labels, and marketing claims comply with applicable regulatory requirements across domestic and international markets. This role supports product innovation and commercialization by providing regulatory guidance, managing submissions, and partnering cross-functionally to mitigate compliance risk while enabling speed to market. The position contributes to maintaining the company's reputation for quality, safety, and transparency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review and approve food and dietary supplement labels, packaging, and marketing materials for compliance with FDA, USDA, FTC, and international regulationsInterpret and apply global regulatory (focus on USA and Canada) requirements to support product development, reformulations, and market expansionsPrepare and manage documentation, submissions, and notifications to regulatory bodies and 3rd party certifiers as requiredMaintain 3rd party certifications for respective businesses, including USDA Organic, GFCO, Kosher, and Non-GMO ProjectPartner with R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure regulatory alignment throughout the product lifecycleMonitor and communicate changes in regulatory requirements and industry standardsSupport audits, inspections, and responses to regulatory inquiriesMaintain regulatory databases and documentation systemsAssess ingredient compliance and support new ingredient approvals or reviewsProvide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on regulatory policies and best practicesAssist in risk assessments and issue resolution related to compliance mattersEducation and/or Experience:Required:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Nutrition, or related scientific field3-5+ years of regulatory affairs experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG), food & beverage, or dietary supplements industryStrong knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks (FDA, USDA, FTC)Preferred:Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) or equivalentExperience with international regulations (e.g., EU, Canada, APAC)Prior experience supporting product launches in a fast-paced CPG environmentCompetencies and Proficiency Requirements:Strong attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory review and documentationSolid understanding of food labeling regulations and claims substantiationAbility to interpret complex regulations and translate into actionable guidanceEffective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder managementStrong written and verbal communication skillsProject management skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency in regulatory information systems and Microsoft Office SuiteProblem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to risk mitigationScope:* Financial/Budgetary Responsibility: Limited direct budget responsibility; may support cost-saving initiatives by ensuring compliance and reducing risk of recalls or penalties* Team Size: Individual contributor; no direct reportsConditions of Role:Travel Requirements: (0-10%), occasional travel for audits, supplier visits, or industry conferencesPhysical Conditions: Primarily office‐ or remote‐based, requiring prolonged periods on computer systems.Work Environment: RemoteCompensation and Benefits:$70,000 -$92,500 / year USD (commensurate with experience and location)Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision CoverageFlexible spending accountsDisability coverageLife insuranceCritical illness and accident insuranceLegal and identity protection insurancePet insuranceEmployee assistance programCommuter benefitsTuition assistanceAdoption assistance401(k)PTOParental LeaveHain Celestial is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer.
