TELAMON|TRC COMMITMENT TO TRAUMAINFORMED CARE:Telamon|TRC has taken steps to shift ourorganization into a Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) model. This changes ourperceptions about the individuals that we work with, employees and customers,including families and children. A trauma-informed system of care providesservices that empower employees and customers, including families and children,to feel safe, welcomed and engaged at all levels of organizational interaction.Exchanges that could be potentially retraumatizing, or trigger traumaticreactions require thoughtfulness and non-judgement. Ongoing, as anorganization, we collaborate to educate employees about the effects ofviolence, victimization and trauma on individuals. This model supports aculture of safety for employees and customers, including families and children.POSITION SUMMARY:Maintainsthe center and grounds in such a way to ensure every child and family whoenters our facilities has a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that supportstheir educational growth and development. Promotes safety practices and workswith supervisor to maintain building systems.DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Performs general cleaning of theCenter to include floors, bathrooms, and fixtures.2. Sanitizes required areas.3. Follows daily, weekly, andmonthly cleaning schedules including, but not limited to, the classrooms,kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas and entrances.4. Performs regular safety checks ofthe facility and grounds to ensure a safe environment. Monitor buildingsecurity and safety to ensure hazards are not created.5. Empties trash containers.6. Replenishes items needed inbathrooms and classrooms.7. Maintains inventory of custodialsupplies and other items as directed by the supervisor.8. Follows a general maintenanceschedule to ensuring all maintenance is performed to maximize the efficiency ofthe facility.9. Inspecting equipment, structures,or materials to keep in good repair and identify the cause of errors or otherproblems or defects.10. May perform outside work such aslawn maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal.11. Perform general maintenance workto include painting, cleaning equipment, basic plumbing, carpentry, HVAC,electrical, and equipment repair.12. Perform minor repairs. Move andassemble furniture.13. Strips, waxes, and buffs floors.14. May assist in the coordination ofbuilding projects and renovations.15. Monitor building operatingsystems and notify supervisor concerning the need for routine maintenance ormajor repairs. Works with supervisor to secure maintenance contracts.16. Work with center supervisor toensure building inspections are conducted.17. May perform deliveries.18. May perform shipping andreceiving duties.19. Protects the safety of childrenby implementing active supervision techniques to ensure no child is left aloneor unsupervised at any time.20. The person in this position musthave the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.21. Assist in the mobilization anddocumentation of matching-in-kind funds.22. Fills in on a temporary basis forfacility staff when the staff member needs to leave the classroom for a shortduration.23. Participates in staff meetings,committees and training sessions.24. Assists with parent engagement.25. Works in cooperation withsupervisor to develop and document progress on professional development plan.Actively engages in professional development activities in accordance withCorporation's Core Values.26. Perform all other duties asassigned by the supervisor.SAFETY DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuringa secure workplace is a collective effort. All employees are responsible foradhering to established safe work practices and completing all mandatory safetytraining by the assigned due date.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Thisposition has no direct supervisory duties but is expected to train or explainwork procedures to others.ROLEQUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceRequirements:• Noformal education is required but must be able to follow standard practices andinstructions, keep routine records and communicate with staff, parents, andchildren.• Highschool diploma or G.E.D. is recommended.• Mustbe able to get certification for CPR and First Aid after hire and recertify asrequired.• Fouryears general maintenance and/or custodial experienceSkills and Abilities:• MicrosoftOffice productsESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:Thework environment characteristics described here are representative of those anemployee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Afingerprint background check may suffice for a regular background check.Additional background checks may be required such as the Child Abuse andNeglect State Registry, and the Sex Offender Registry.Positions that Require Driving:• Telamon|TRCemployees that are required to drive a personal vehicle for work-related dutiesare to meet the auto insurance liability requirement. The minimum limitsrequired are $100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 each accident bodilyinjury and $50,000 property damage. Theinsurance liability requirement covers use of an employee's personalvehicle.• Telamon|TRCemployees that drive a company-owned/rental vehicle must maintain asatisfactory annual motor vehicle record check.
