This model supports aculture of safety for employees and customers, including families and children.POSITION SUMMARY:Developsand implements individual and group educational plans for infant and toddleraged children, designed to promote social-emotional, physical, and cognitivegrowth in a manner appropriate to their stage of development. Providesleadership through active direction and direct involvement with Center Aidesand Volunteers.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Develops and implementsindividualized and group lesson plans and educational activities that promoteall developmental areas to improve the readiness of children for school.2. Guides and facilitates activitiesof the children including daily classroom activities and field trips. Usescreativity to provide healthy and safe activities that are developmentally andage appropriate.3. Selects and sets up equipment andmaterials in the classroom. Ensures there is a safe and healthy developmentallyappropriate learning environment.4. Maintains accurate records, bothon paper and in designated on-line systems. Maintains confidentiality regarding students and families.5. Plans, conducts and documentsobservations, assessments and screenings. Maintains a comprehensive and ongoingportfolio assessment for each child including weekly observations, examples ofthe child's work, and developmental assessments.6. Composes and proofreadscorrespondence and reports.7. Conducts home visits and parentconferences to discuss the child's individual development and progress andassists parents in developing observational skills.8. Works with the Center Aides andVolunteers to develop their skills and abilities in planning and carrying outclassroom activities.9. The person in this position musthave the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Protects the safety of children by implementing active supervision techniquesto ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised at any time.10. Uses the playground as anextension of the classroom; assures that the playground is safe.11. Eats with and assists children ineating to teach social and self-help skills and sound nutritional practices.12. Ensures that the physical needsof children are met, assisting children in health and personal habits, such aseating, resting, brushing teeth, diapering and toilet habits.13. Creates ways to engage parents inthe education of their children including encouraging classroom involvement andhome activities.14. May perform duties of other staffmembers (Bus Monitor, Center Aide, Teacher Assistant) in time of staffshortage.15. Ensures the mobilization anddocumentation of matching/in-kind funds.16. May assist in preparing andserving meals.17. Inventories all classroomequipment and supplies annually.18. Works in cooperation withsupervisor to develop and document progress on professional development plan.Actively engages in professional development activities to increasequalifications in accordance with Corporation's Core Values.19. Fills in on a temporary basiswhen a staff member needs to leave the classroom for a short duration.20. Participates in staff meetingsand training sessions.21. Work may require the flexibilityto stay until all children have left the program.22. Keeps classroom clean andorganized.23. May support with translation orinterpretation.24. Perform all other duties asassigned by Supervisor.SAFETY DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:Ensuringa secure workplace is a collective effort. All employees are responsible foradhering to established safe work practices and completing all mandatory safetytraining by the assigned due date.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has no direct supervisory duties butis considered a subject matter resource for others and may participate indistributing workload, quality control and training.ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:Educationand Experience Requirements:JobCode 501 / Grade E7A• InfantToddler Child Development Associate *(CDA) credential or comparable credentialand have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhooddevelopment with a focus on infant and toddler development is required. Willingness to work towards any additionalcredentials needed to move to the next level in the position.Job Code 505 / Grade E7B• Associate's degree in childdevelopment or early childhood or related field*• 2 years of experience workingwith infant-toddler children is preferred.Job Code 506 / Grade E7C• Bachelor'sdegree in child development or early childhood education, or related field orrelated field*• 1year of experience working with infant-toddler children is preferred.Preferred:• Bilingual(Spanish/English).All grades require completion of CPR/First Aidwithin a month of hire.All grades must have a willingness to work towardsany additional credentials needed to move to the next level in the position,this may include continued education.State requirements may vary, individual must meetrequirements for state in which they are employed.* Degree in a related field isdefined as an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in a field otherthan child development or early childhood education that either includes or issupplemented by twelve (12) college credits in child development, earlychildhood, or equivalent coursework focusing on children birth to age five. The minimum limitsrequired are $100,000 each person bodily injury, $300,000 each accident bodilyinjury and $50,000 property damage. Theinsurance liability requirement covers use of an employee's personalvehicle.• Telamon|TRCemployees that drive a company-owned/rental vehicle must maintain asatisfactory annual motor vehicle record check.
