Job Title: IS Project Manager
Location: Cary, NC (The work will be mostly remote, but we need candidates in these location for occasional meetings.)
Duration: 11+ Months (Strong potential for conversion/extension, but this is a long-term project.)
Main Accountabilities:
CLIENT is looking for senior IS Project Manager with experience managing IS projects in a global environment, utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methods. The senior IS Project Manager will primarily be responsible for running CLIENT’s larger and more complex IS projects; ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality are met according to global KPI measurements.
Key areas of accountability include:
Ensure successful delivery of the IS project; closely collaborating with the business project manager on overall project success and all required project documentation
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and deliver the IS project outcomes to time, scope, cost, and quality
Monitor and control project financials, including oversight of budget consumption and project invoicing
Provide external contractor/consultant engagement management in terms of ensuring execution of the agreed delivery proposal; inclusive of ensuring contract and claims management is in accordance with contractual agreements
Ensure appropriate CLIENT IS Project Management standards, methods and processes are followed
Proactively work with IS and business leadership to establish project management plans (plan projects, objectives, value/benefits, scope, timeline, resources, cost, and risks) for assigned projects
Ensure consistent project communications, including formal project status reporting on performance against plan and expected business outcomes
Proactively manage project issues and scope changes to minimize the impact on the comprehensive portfolio execution plan
Actively seek to find and manage interdependencies between projects, ensuring proactive collaboration between the projects as well as proactive engagement and management of global and local project participants and stakeholders
Adeptly identify and manage project risks, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation plans are in place and schedules are managed according to the risk conditions
In conjunction with CLIENT’s global IS service delivery model, collaborate with Workforce and Service Managers to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects
Liaison with the IS Run organization to ensure timely planning and engagement of hand over to operations as a part of the overall project plan
Facilitate project close out, including value delivery assessments and capture of key lessons learned
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, Business, or related field
8-10+ years of experience managing programs and projects
PMP® certification or similar
Budget Responsibility: Expected sum of active projects budgets $1-50 MUSD
Program/Process Scope: Americas applications and infrastructure environment
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
