Controls / Automation TechnicianLockHaven, PA | Full-TimeNight Shift-7pm-7am, 2/2/3 schedulePay: $30-35 per hour plus $1.50 shift differentialPurpose of the Role-Controls / Automation TechnicianOur client is seeking a Controls / Automation Technician to support production and utility equipment by troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing control systems. This role is critical to ensuring safe operation, high reliability, and consistent line performance across manufacturing operations.This position is well-suited for a hands-on technician with a strong electrical background who enjoys working with automation systems in a fast-paced production environment.Key Responsibilities-Controls / Automation TechnicianSafety & ComplianceFollow all OSHA and company safety standards, using required PPE at all timesIdentify and report electrical hazards and take immediate corrective action when neededDemonstrate a working understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)Controls & Electrical Systems-Controls / Automation TechnicianTroubleshoot, repair, replace, and calibrate electrical sensors, including photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, magnetic, pressure, temperature, weight, and position sensorsTroubleshoot, repair, replace, and commission electrical control devices, including:AC and DC drivesServo controllersMotors, breakers, contactors, solenoidsPower supplies and indicator lightsTroubleshoot, repair, replace, and commission PLC and HMI hardware, including:PLC processorsDiscrete and analog I/OPower supplies and network adaptersDistributed I/O systemsOperator interfaces (PanelView, PC-based interfaces, message displays such as FactoryTalk View)Automation & Diagnostics-Controls / Automation TechnicianDiagnose system issues using laptops connected to PLCs, HMIs, and servo systemsUtilize electrical schematics, meters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic toolsMake minor program changes to PLC logic, HMI programs, and servo controller logic (with guidance) to support troubleshooting and repairsPerform wiring and programming changes on production equipment as requiredMaintenance & Continuous Support-Controls / Automation TechnicianPerform scheduled electrical preventive maintenanceSupport Production, Maintenance, Process, and Project Engineers with daily priorities and special projectsAssist with equipment installations and improvement projects as neededShare technical knowledge and best practices with team membersAttend company-provided training sessions when applicableMaintain a clean, organized work areaEducation & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma with an Associate's Degree in Electronics or equivalent3 + years of industrial experienceProficiency with personal computers, including:Controls programming softwareEmail, word processing, and spreadsheet applicationsWorking knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operationKnowledge of controller-based hardware and software systemsUnderstanding of product specifications, quality requirements, production goals, efficiency, and wasteStrong communication and analytical skillsAbility to operate production equipment with assistanceAbility to make quick, accurate electrical repairs and program changesProven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment#LI-NT1
