Teacher - Science Grade 8

Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher for Grade 8 at Locust Grove Middle. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and academic growth.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state standards for Grade 8 science.Create engaging lesson plans that promote inquiry-based learning and scientific literacy.Facilitate hands-on experiments and laboratory activities to enhance student understanding of scientific concepts.Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and class participation.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance and behavior.Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate science with other subjects and participate in school-wide initiatives.Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.Stay current with advancements in science education and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.Support students' social and emotional development by fostering a positive classroom culture.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field.Valid teaching certification for middle school science or willing to obtain.Strong knowledge of Grade 8 science curriculum and educational best practices.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage and motivate students in a diverse classroom setting.Experience with technology integration in the classroom is preferred.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is a plus.
