Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Grade 4 Teacher at Lightfoot Elementary. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters academic and social growth for students. You will implement a curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners while promoting critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success and a desire to inspire young minds.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the varying needs of students.Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations.Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs.Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to enhance the educational experience for all students.Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to engage students and enhance learning outcomes.Manage classroom behavior and implement effective discipline strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and enhance teaching skills.Support students' social and emotional development by promoting positive relationships and conflict resolution skills.Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Education or a related field; willing to obtain a Virginia teaching license.Experience teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably in Grade 4 preferredStrong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and meet the needs of all students.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
