Chip Design Engineer
Overview
In this role you will lead the design of next‑gen Nitro silicon blocks for AWS, driving architecture through tape‑out. You’ll work with a fast, cross‑functional team to deliver production‑grade IP at scale and partner with Verification, Emulation, and other groups to ensure robust, implementable designs. This is a hands‑on position focused on end‑to‑end ownership and impact across a multi‑block platform that powers AWS globally. Join a mission to shape cloud hardware at scale.
ResponsibilitiesOwn end‑to‑end ownership of critical IP blocks from micro‑architecture definition to RTL, verification, synthesis, timing closure and tape‑outCollaborate with Verification and Emulation to shape test plans and close gaps early in the design cycleWork with Product Definition, Software, Physical Design, and Verification teams to deliver an integrated, production‑ready chipShip silicon that powers AWS at global scale
Key requirementsB.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering5+ years of experience in Chip DesignExperience with data pathsExperience with large scale IPs (millions of gates)Experience with full design cycle – RTL/Verification/Synthesis and timing closure/CDC/LintExperience with Networking layersCross‑functional collaborationProactive problem solvingStrong communicationRTL designVerificationSynthesis
