ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDirectly supervise and coordinates the histology team, including performing routine duties of histology including embedding, microtome, specials stains and related tasksManage the employee hiring process (interview prospective employees, develop performance expectations, identify essential functions and knowledge, skills and abilities)Manage employee performance and new employee orientation processMonitor and evaluate lab operations, workflow, and employeesProperly embed, section, and stain all types of tissueMaintain quality control records on all equipment Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or GED Associate's degree or equivalent preferred ASCP (HT) certification preferredAt least 5 years of Histotech experienceSome supervisory experience
