Histo Tech Location: Frankfort, IN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $720 per week Shift Information: Days - 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Title: Histology Technician Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Histology Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Must have in-state license prior to start date Certifications: ASCP-HT, BLS required Must-Have: - Previous experience with excision specimens, formalin, frozen sections, incisional biopsies, and shave biopsies. - Ability to cut tissue sections using microtome and cryostat. - Knowledge of histology cassettes, precision microtomy, and basic dye stains. - Familiarity with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stain. - Experience preparing slides for staining and coverslipping. - Experience in commercial or reference laboratories and hospital clinical laboratories is preferred. Description: The position requires a Histology Technician. The shift is Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Responsibilities include handling excision specimens and formalin-fixed tissues. The technician will perform frozen section procedures and manage incisional biopsies. Experience with methods of freezing and reagent types/components is essential. The role involves cutting tissue sections using a microtome and cryostat. The technician will handle cutting blocks, histology cassettes, and perform microtomy of frozen sections. Basic dye stains, particularly H&E stains, will be utilized. The technician will prepare slides for staining and cover slips. Candidates must possess national certifications and BLS certification. The technician may participate in procedures related to skin cancer and Mohs procedures. All candidates must comply with floating requirements within the facility.
