Staff Data Engineer

Velocity Tech has partnered with an exciting Health Tech company in the US who are looking for a Staff Data Engineer to join. This role is fully remote with no expectation of travel. You must be based in the US, Responsibilities;Design and own scalable, production-grade data architectures on GCPLead the development of robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data stack toolsBuild and optimise data warehouses and lakehouse architectures (e.g. BigQuery)Establish best practices in data modelling, governance, and data qualityRequirements;8+ years in data engineering or related field, with experience at Staff or Senior levelStrong experience with GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer)Expertise in Python and SQL for data processing and pipeline developmentExperience building distributed data systems and handling large-scale datasetsStrong understanding of data modelling techniques (e.g. dimensional modelling)Experience with orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow / Cloud Composer)Solid understanding of streaming and batch data processing
