Position duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control, safety checks, and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites. This position is classified as "safety-sensitive."Essential FunctionsManages a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress, and resource allocationCreates cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials and other project costsCollaborates with clients, Project Managers, other construction management to determine budget and timelineCoordinates materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliersCreates schedules for workers and subcontractorsHires additional subcontractors and assign work accordinglyMaintains a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessaryMakes changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlinesImplements management techniques that are cost-effective and efficientCollaborates with clients, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors and staff on site and othersPrevents scope "creep"QualificationsBachelor's degree in a relevant construction-related discipline, such as construction management or engineeringA minimum five (5) years of experience in construction management. Superintendent experience highly preferred.Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable MVRPossess an OSHA-30 certification and a thorough knowledge of OSHA safety requirementsStrong project management skills with knowledge of construction budgeting "best-in-industry" practicesCollaboration skills and the ability to maintain relationships with clients and crewsAbility to read blueprints, CAD drawings, design layouts and other construction documentsUnderstanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenanceAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Strong analytical, organizational, and quality management skills and the ability to problem solve, multitask, prioritize and work independentlyExcellent communication and time management skillsAble to travel frequently and support long term assignmentsStrong planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingenciesEffective leadership abilities, able to motivate team, set goals and resolve conflictsWilling to work nights, weekends, and holidays if necessaryWorking ConditionsLocation - This project is located in Farmington, NM. Subsequent projects may be nationally based.Travel - This role will be expected to travel to project locations, sometimes nationallyConstruction site environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. May be exposed to high noise levels.*These positions are subject to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act (NPEA).
