Design Engineer (Foundry experience)

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:- Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for No-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction Typical task breakdown:- RFQ tooling, Design New Pattern Tooling, resolve casting issues, Re-gate, Simulate, all other tasks as needed.Interaction with team:- Interact with managers on directions and priorities of workflow.- Interact with Tool designers and Engineers for tool build, process flow.- Interact with Pattern Makers for tool build direction.Team Structure- Managers, Foundry Tool Designer, Manufacturing Engineer, Programmer, Pattern Makers, Pattern Technicians.Work environment:- Foundry production setting. Cold in winter, Hot in Summer- Common office computer desk setting- Shop floor environment.Education & Experience Required:- Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experiences- Degree requirement: Associate or Bachelor.- Do you accept internships as job experience: No Top 3 Skills:- Foundry Engineer Experience. (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process) - Foundry tooling Design Experience. (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process) - Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCastAdditional Technical Skills(Required)- Strong CAD skills (Creo prefers).- Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understanding- Casting simulation experiences (SolidCast prefers)(Desired)- CNC milling knowledgeSoft Skills(Required)- Able to work with and direct suppliers on Tooling Build Projects- Communicate and work well with all levels of the facility.Disqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications:- No Foundry experiences- No Tool design experiences with CAD
