Only W2 (No C2C/1099)Role: Senior Software Engineer – Application Development, Database Programming, and C#Location: Chandler, AZ (Hybrid working model – 3 days onsite/2 days remote)Contract: 12 months (potential extension/conversion)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in application development, database programming, and C# to design, build, and support scalable enterprise software solutions. This role requires strong hands-on engineering expertise, a deep understanding of database-driven applications, and the ability to collaborate across product, architecture, quality, and operations teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-performing systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using C#, .NET, and related Microsoft technologies.Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into clean, scalable, and maintainable software designs.Develop and optimize database objects, stored procedures, queries, functions, and data access patterns for performance, reliability, and security.Build and maintain integrations between applications, databases, APIs, internal services, and third-party systems.Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing practical recommendations for application structure, database design, and system scalability.Write high-quality, well-tested code following object-oriented design principles, secure coding practices, and established engineering standards.Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex production issues, and identify root causes across application, service, and database layers.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, analysts, QA engineers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.Mentor junior and mid-level developers by sharing technical guidance, reviewing designs, and promoting engineering best practices.Support continuous improvement of development processes, automation, DevOps practices, and release quality.Required Qualifications5+ years of professional software development experience, including strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET application development.Strong experience designing and developing database-driven applications using SQL Server or comparable relational database platforms.Proficiency with database programming concepts, including stored procedures, functions, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and data modeling.Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software development lifecycle practices.Experience developing RESTful APIs, services, batch processes, integrations, or backend application components.Experience with source control systems such as Git and modern development workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across application code, database logic, and runtime environments.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.Preferred QualificationsExperience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, LINQ, MVC, Web API, or similar .NET application frameworks.Experience with cloud platforms, DevOps pipelines, automated deployments, or CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.Knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure data handling practices.Experience improving application performance, database performance, observability, logging, monitoring, and production support processes.Familiarity with Agile delivery practices, sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and iterative delivery.Experience modernizing legacy applications, refactoring code, improving maintainability, or migrating applications to newer technology platforms.Success AttributesStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to quality, reliability, and maintainability.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented engineering environment.Pragmatic decision-making skills with the ability to balance technical excellence, delivery timelines, and business priorities.Commitment to continuous learning, technical improvement, and mentoring others.Ownership mindset with accountability for delivering durable solutions and supporting them through production use.EEO: “Mindlance is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment based on Minority/Gender/Disability/Religion/LGBTQI/Age/Veterans.”
