Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to work with us. The FP&A Analyst is a high-impact, technology-forward finance role responsible for integrating financial expertise with advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven workflow design. Please note: This position will be one day remote and four days in the office: This role partners closely with Accounting, Operations, and Senior Leadership to: Build scalable financial models and forecasting systems Develop automated reporting and dashboard processes Implement data controls and workflow automation Transform raw operational data into actionable financial intelligence The ideal candidate combines strong financial and accounting fundamentals with advanced technical proficiency in Excel and AI tools such as ChatGPT to modernize and elevate the finance function. Additional preferred skills include Yardi, Power BI, SQL, and Power Automate.  As we scale, we are investing heavily in AI-enabled finance transformation, leveraging automation, advanced analytics, and intelligent workflows to enable faster, more accurate, and more strategic financial decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning, Forecasting & Modeling Lead development of dynamic annual budgets and rolling forecasts across the portfolio Design driver-based financial models integrating labor, census, and operational KPIs Build scenario and sensitivity models using advanced Excel, Power BI, and AI-enhanced modeling tools Integrate data from Yardi and other systems to create automated forecasts Leverage SQL and structured data queries to improve forecasting accuracy and data integrity Utilize AI tools to accelerate model building, scenario simulations, and budget variance explanations Advanced Financial Reporting & Analytics Own monthly reporting packages, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and automated data flows Develop standardized, automated reporting workflows using Excel, Power BI, and Spreadsheet Server. Design executive dashboards with drill-through capability and real-time KPI tracking Build financial performance visualizations for occupancy, labor, margin, debt service, and cash flow Perform deep variance analysis linking financial results to operational drivers Serve as a technical liaison between Finance, Accounting, and Operations to improve team collaboration. AI, Automation & Workflow Engineering Design and implement AI-assisted financial workflows using: Excel automation Power Automate SQL data queries Power BI data models ChatGPT for analysis acceleration and documentation Automate recurring reporting processes and budget variance commentary Create data validation controls and governance frameworks to ensure reporting accuracy Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field Minimum 3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or data analytics Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, modeling) Strong understanding of financial statements, accrual accounting, and operational finance Ability to connect financial outcomes to underlying business drivers Strongly Preferred Qualifications Experience with: Power BI dashboard development and data modeling SQL (data extraction and transformation) Yardi or similar ERP systems Power Automate or workflow automation tools AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for analytics acceleration Experience building automated reporting processes Exposure to centralized reporting platforms, OLAP cubes, or data warehouses Skills & Attributes Analytical rigor with a systems thinking mindset Strong process design and workflow orientation High attention to detail and data integrity Cross-departmental collaboration with Operations, Finance, Accounting, and HR Intellectual curiosity around AI and automation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment Clear communicator who can explain complex financial concepts simply    What We Offer: Compensation: $70000 per year - $80000 per year DOE Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid holidays, unlimited PTO, tuition reimbursement, and more.
