Systems Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers
Support Linux and Windows operating systems in production and lab environments
Perform system monitoring, health checks, and basic performance tuning
Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and application-level issues and escalate when appropriate
Assist with provisioning and decommissioning servers, storage, and network resources
Support virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
Participate in change management, patching, and maintenance windows
Maintain clear documentation for systems, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
Work with cross-functional teams including networking, security, procurement, and field operations
Provide limited on-call or after-hours support as needed
Required Qualifications
1 to 5 years of professional experience in systems engineering, IT operations, or technical support
Working knowledge of Linux and or Windows Server environments
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and firewalls
Experience with virtualization or container platforms is a plus
Familiarity with hardware components such as servers, storage, and networking equipment
Ability to troubleshoot methodically and follow documented processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Exposure to automation or scripting such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python
Experience supporting data center or lab environments
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Red Hat, or VMware
