Psychiatric Technician - The Meadowglade Psychiatric TechnicianSalary Range: $21.00 To $22.00 HourlySchedule: Saturdays, Sundays, 3:00PM to 11:30PMJob SummaryThe Psychiatric Technician is responsible to provide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population ensuring that clients and staff have what they need to follow the lead of the Clinical Director and Program Director.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for conducting client Intake/Discharge Inventory's and documenting all items in the EMR systemProvide line of sight supervision to clients throughout the duration of your shiftProvide and facilitate educational and support groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client's recordsStrive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required trainings in a timely fashionProvides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessaryMaintain active participation with the clients at all timesPrepare and monitor medication self-administration documenting all details in EMRComplete, update, and maintain the Centrally Stored Medication and Destruction Log for all clientsDocument clients' daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in EMRCommunicate with fellow Psych Techs, Therapists, Nurse, and Program Director, on an ongoing basisResponsible for ensuring that clients are in designated group area prior to the start of every group; prompts and encourages clients to join every scheduled group and communicates a client's refusal to the appropriate partiesConduct thorough room and facility searches to ensure the clients' safety at all timesTransports clients to offsite appointments as assigned and maintain a safe driving recordCollects, prepares, schedules FedEx pickup, and documents UA POC results in EMRProvides client's their approved belongings during designated leisure time periodsAssists clients with activities of daily living, including cleaning, putting belongings away, folding laundry, clean up after meals, etc. Complete other house chores as assignedCarry out other responsibilities as delegatedRequired Skills/AbilitiesSolid communication skills (written and oral), collaboration and intervention skillsAbility to problem solve, identify, and resolve problems in a timely mannerStrong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environmentSelf-motivated, takes initiative to accomplish daily tasks with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to work as a group to carry out daily choresAbility to maintain line of sight for designated clients while prioritizing the safety and security the whole groupDemonstrate a cooperative positive, and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients, and visitors even in the face of resistance of adversityPunctual in arriving/departing for scheduled shifts and diligently takes full 30-min lunch break between the 3.5-5 hour mark after clocking inQualifications, Education and ExperiencePossess a High School diploma or GEDValid first aid and CPR certificationHave a minimum of 1-year experience in the social services fieldDemonstrates a genuine desire to work with the population servedCurrent driver's license, current auto insurance and clear DMV reportPhysical RequirementsAble to sit and stand for long periods, bending, stooping and/or frequent walkingPossess a High School diploma or GED Able to lift and move up to 25 poundsPosition requires walking up a steep incline, oftentimes in the heatNote: Research shows that women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds often apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications.
