This opportunity is for you!Job SummaryWe are looking for a Financial Controller to take full ownership of the day-to-day finance operations of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and oversight of accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You will be responsible for maintaining clean, reliable financials, ensuring compliance, and building the structure and discipline leadership depends on. You will also lead and develop a team that operates efficiently, communicates clearly, and consistently delivers high-quality work.This role requires strong strategic and analytical capability, with proven leadership experience. You will serve as a key partner to the Chief Financial Officer, providing accurate financial insight and supporting informed decision-making across the organization. Duties/Responsibilities:Lead all day-to-day accounting operations (GL, AP, AR, reconciliations)Ensure accurate, timely month-end close and financial reportingManage cash flow, banking activity, and account reconciliationsPrepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)Own budgeting and forecasting processesMaintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controlsIdentify issues, implement solutions, and streamline accounting processesEffectively lead and manage accounting staffAnalyze business and partner with leadership to support operational and financial decisionsParticipate in vendor and client financial interactionsPerform other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Requirements:Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or Finance leaderProven experience managing full-cycle accounting operationsStrong leadership experience, managing teams and accountabilityPreferred Experience:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – active license preferredExperience in the construction industryFamiliarity with Sage or similar accounting systemsExperience in accounting process optimization and streamliningExperience working directly with executive leadershipCompetency Requirements:Advanced Excel skillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and lawsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skillsDetail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsVision and Career DevelopmentThis operational Financial Controller role is designed with a clear path to grow into a more strategic seat as you build trust, strengthen systems, and deepen your understanding of the business. Physical Requirements:This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typing, writing, and analyzing data. Moving, carrying and lifting equipment weighing up to 30 pounds, moving throughout the building to perform daily tasks. Driving and traveling short and long distances. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
